Moreover, the Hilton chain took part in tender with regards to the zoning of the Grunwaldzkie Roundabout area, where the chain has proposed construction of a 5-stars hotel. Another 5-stars hotel has been recently opened on Szczepańska Street. It is part of the Holding Liwa chain and offers 57 rooms.
Additionally, by Księcia Józefa Street a 3-stars hotel is planned with 300 rooms, a conference centre as well as an entertainment and restaurant complex. Hotel rates depend on the season and major cultural events. The highest prices are charged from 1st April to 31st September. The majority of hotels also offer weekend rates throughout the year. As a rule they are by 5% to 50% lower, depending on the hotel and its location within the city. Following Poland’s EU accession, accommodation prices are usually quoted in euro. Compared to the year 2002, accommodation prices have increased.
