In the first six months of 2005 89 hotels were operating in Cracow, offering in total 11.275 beds. The biggest share in the market have 3-stars hotels accounting for approximately 50% of the total number of beds.
As far as higher-standard hotels are concerned, in the years 2003-2004 two 4-stars hotels were completed, namely Sympozjum and Radisson SAS (which in autumn 2004 was awarded the 5th star). Together, they added to the market nearly 280 hotel rooms. Furthermore one 5-stars hotel was opened, namely the Sheraton (member of Starwood Hotels) offering over 200 rooms. Moreover, the Grand – one of the oldest hotels in Cracow – received the 5th star after its modernization. This year another hotel of high class has been opened. It is Qubus Hotel which offers 195 rooms.
